Walter Sieb

CEO, HMSHost International

Walter Seib re-joined HMSHost in February 2012 as CEO for HMSHost International, which covers Northern Europe, Middle East & Asia Pacific. HMSHost International has outlets in 19 countries, including at airports in Scandinavia (Stockholm Arlanda, Skavsta Airport, Copenhagen, Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Bode and Helsinki), Ireland (Dublin), India (Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai), New Zealand (Auckland and Christchurch), Australia (Cairns), Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Turkey, Russia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Great Britain and Netherlands. In addition to airports HMSHost International operates on train stations, Outlet Shopping Malls and motorways. Walter reports to the CEO of the Autogrill Group, Gianmario Tondato da Ruos, and is part of the Senior Executive Team of the Autogrill Group.

Prior to this position, Walter was CEO of La Place, a leading restaurant chain in the Netherlands and Belgium with units at V&D department stores and at other high traffic locations. La Place is the restaurant and food group of V&D and part of Sun Capital Partners. La Place offers several different formats (La Place restaurants, La Place Café, La Place Express, La Place Food) and operates more than 220 stores in 118 locations. Walter also served as member of the board for V&D Group, a department store chain in the Netherlands with an annual turnover of € 1 billion.

Immediately preceding to joining La Place, Mr. Seib was Managing Director of HMSHost International for all business development and operations outside of North America and Canada. The international operations includes activities in Europe (The Netherlands, Finland, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Russia, Ireland and the Eurotunnel), United Arab Emirates, Qatar, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Australia and New-Zealand. Additionally, he was Senior Vice President for HMSHost Corporation and part of the Senior Executive team of HMSHost Corporation.

Prior to joining HMSHost, he held management positions with Wescho Gastronomie and Mövenpick.

Walter is also in the Supervisory board of ISS Netherlands (facility services company with over €200 mil. turnover) and at the Het Rijk Golf courses (four golf courses in the Netherlands) and is connected as Advisory Council member at Food Service Network International. For the Hotel Management School Maastricht Walter gives guest colleagues twice a year to the minor Food service and is also in the Advisory Board of this school, one of the leading hotel management schools in the world.

Mr. Seib studied at Vienna’s Gastgewerbefachschule School of Hotel Management.
